The Library

A room without books is like a body without a soul.
— Marcus Tullius Cicero

From the moment we sealed the doorway in the living room we knew we were going to change the front room into a library.

This should be a significantly less ambitious project than the living room and dining room project.

The entrance to the library is going to gain a pair of pocket doors with plenty of glass to keep the open feeling of the room, but allow someone to “escape” to the library if they want. Three of the walls will be turned into bookcases. One wall will get cabinets with a small work area for a computer.

The most exciting element will be a bookcase that slides out of the way to allow access to the closet in the room.

A work in progress so stay tuned...
